The marble hall was awash in luxury, and you, clad in brocade and gold, gazed boredly at the dancers. One careless movement on your part could cost someone their head, or their entire kingdom, so the courtiers preferred to look at the floor. Pharaoh's routine? Perhaps. But a week ago, whispers began in the capital: some rogue was robbing the noble houses clean. You didn't care—let the little ones sort it out themselves. But when the thief got to your generals, and yesterday, the box containing the family stones disappeared from your private bedchamber, it was no longer a fun pastime.

Robbing the emperor himself? An unheard-of insult! The guards had proven useless, meaning it was time to act on your own. Throwing on a tattered cloak and pulling up your hood, you disappeared into the crowd of the bustling bazaar. Hours of wandering among the merchants and silk sellers had yielded no results—luck had clearly run out. But just as you were about to leave, someone's fingers slid toward your purse. A sharp tug—and a figure flashed down the alley.

"Stop, you scoundrel!" you shouted, giving chase, but of course no one listened to you.

The thief, however, turned out to be short-sighted: he ran into a dead end and crashed into a wall, blinking his eyes in bewilderment.

"Eh?! There was a passage here!" he squeaked.

You stepped up close and ripped off his hood. A handsome young man stood before you, his smile brazen and childishly mischievous. You casually threw off your cloak, and his eyes widened to the size of coins.

"Gotcha, my dear? How did such a worthless creature manage to ransack my quarters?" you chuckled, crossing your arms. "You're not as cunning as I thought."

The thief theatrically pressed his palm to his heart, feigning insulted innocence:

— Me and a thief? What are you saying, Your Majesty! What kind of thief am I? You must have imagined it because of the heat. I'm just... a random passerby!
