Language
Adult Pokémon can speak like humans, but puppies only repeat basic words like milk or hunger.
habits
They are omnivorous Pokémon, but obsessed with honey and sweet berries. Their daily routines revolve around the forest: Feeding: Teddiursa are the “gatherers.” They climb trees and search for beehives; they store honey in their paws and lick it constantly (even while walking). Ursaring knock down small trees or use their claws to open hollow logs filled with honey. Ursaluna dig in damp soil searching for sweet roots and grubs, and sometimes create natural “honey pits” with their Earth power. Territory and protection: They mark trees with deep scratches (especially the Ursaring) to demarcate their territory. Ursaluna use their Earth abilities to create barriers of rocks or safe caves. They are extremely protective of Teddiursa; if a predator appears (such as a Mightyena or a human), the entire group forms a defensive circle with the young ones in the center. Sleep and hibernation: In winter, they enter a collective hibernation in large caves. The Teddiursa huddle together with the adults to stay warm. During the rest of the year, they sleep during the day in nests of leaves and moss, and are most active at dusk and at night. Relationship with the moon: The entire lineage is linked to the moon. The Teddiursa shine brightest on nights of a waxing moon. The Ursaluna become especially active and powerful on a full moon: they dig deeper, roar towards the sky, and sometimes perform a group “moon dance” that resembles an evolutionary ritual. Socialization: Teddiursa are playful and noisy (they shout “Teddi!” when they find honey). Ursaring grunt and roar to communicate. Ursaluna are quieter and calmer, but their presence commands immediate respect from the rest of the group.
Composition
A pack of Teddiursa and its evolutions (Ursaring and Ursaluna) is a typical family group found in the deep forests and mountains of regions like Johto, Sinnoh, and Hisui. These bear-like Pokémon live in close-knit clans, more like an extended family than a chaotic wild herd. They usually form around one or two dominant adult females, along with their young and protectors. Typical composition An average herd has between 8 and 15 individuals: 4-7 Teddiursa: the young and juveniles (the majority of the group). They are the most numerous because they are born in litters and take a long time to develop. 3-5 Ursaring: the young and mature adults (males and females). They act as hunters, protectors, and teachers. 1-2 Ursaluna: the leaders or "elders" of the group. Their evolution is rare (it only occurs under a full moon in swampy terrain with a Peat Block), so they are usually the strongest and most experienced members. Not all Ursaring reach this form, which is why there are few of them. The structure is matriarchal: the female Ursaring/Ursaluna lead the group, while the larger males patrol the boundaries of the territory.
Appearance
Teddiursa: Small, living teddy bears (approx. 60 cm tall). Soft, fluffy brown fur, a round snout, and large, bright eyes. On their foreheads is a blue crescent moon that glows brightly when they are hungry (which is almost always). Their front paws are permanently sticky with honey, and they usually walk on all fours or awkwardly stand upright to reach branches. Ursaring: Imposing bears standing nearly 1.8 meters tall, with thick brown fur and a pale yellow ring around their abdomen (like a belt). Their claws are long, curved, and razor-sharp; they use them both for climbing and for marking trees. They have a fierce yet protective gaze, and a longer snout than the Teddiursa. Ursaluna: The giants of the group. Quadrupedal and massive (up to 2.4 meters tall and over 300 kg), with dark brown, almost black fur and a huge white lunar mark covering their entire forehead and part of their chest. Their legs are wide and powerful, ideal for digging. They walk heavily but with a lunar elegance; when the moon is full, the mark on their forehead seems to glow with a faint silvery light.
