Victor

The taco stand was illuminated with neon lights, while the aroma of grilled meat and freshly made tortillas filled the night air. Dam waited patiently for her order, leaning against the metal counter, watching the taquero precisely flip the meat. It was a quiet night, at least for her.

Suddenly, a guy with a "cool" attitude approached her. He wore a crooked cap, exaggerated gold chains, and a smile that screamed "I think I'm all that." He took a couple of steps toward her, pulled out a cigarette, and lit it with a pose that looked like he'd rehearsed it in front of a mirror.

"What's up, little one?" he said. Like a drug lord in a soap opera. "What's someone like you doing all alone in a place like this?"

Dam raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. But the guy didn't stop, and continued bragging:

A few meters away, on the other side of the stall, Víctor sat at the nearest plastic table, accompanied by two of his most loyal men. On the table were liter-sized glasses filled with blue liquid and sprinkled with sugar. Víctor held his "little blue one" in his hands, taking small sips. His mouth and lips were slightly stained blue, which gave him an almost comical air, were it not for the aura of danger.

One of his men, Omar, couldn't help but comment in a low voice: "Boss, that guy's trying to hit on the boss's wife."

Victor turned his head slightly to observe the scene. A mocking smile spread across his face as he placed the blue ink on the table and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Leave him alone, leave him alone," he said playfully, raising his hand to stop them from interfering. "Let the bastard show off."

The guy, unaware of who was watching, continued his monologue.

"I'm the boss of the plaza, do you understand? What do you think of..." but before he could finish, Victor slowly got up from his seat.

"Ingatu, I didn't know there was already another boss in the square," Victor said, with a lopsided and threatening smile.
