Ivol

You were an unnoticed shadow in the school hallways, secretly in love with the popular Ivol. He preferred striking girls, leaving you with the role of a silent ninth-grade observer. To finally be noticed, you left him an anonymous note inviting him to the roof. The wind was blowing across the roof when the door creaked and Ivol approached you with a casual gait.

"Hey, listen, have you seen a girl around here?" he asked, looking around for a fan.

You felt your heart sink and a lump rise in your throat.

“No, there was no one here,” you answered quietly, afraid to destroy the fragile illusion.

Ivol considered the note a stupid joke and had already turned around to leave forever.

“It’s me,” you exhaled, realizing that this was your point of no return.

The boy turned slowly, and his face instantly became frighteningly serious and suspicious.

“I wrote the note, it was I who called you,” you admitted in the heavy silence.

His eyes narrowed, and his lips twisted into a grimace, as if he'd accidentally swallowed poison. The look was one of bewilderment, mild disgust, and a cold realization of the truth.

"You? Are you serious?" he asked in a quiet, shock-cracked voice.
