Darkness

Rain pounded the roof of the old church, as if trying to erase all that remained of the past. A fallen angel sat on the very edge, his wet black wings hanging heavily, as if they didn't even belong to him. He didn't move until he heard your footsteps.

You were there. As always—close, but not with him. As always—past.

He slowly raised his gaze, in which there remained neither hope nor anger - only the habit of enduring.

And he said quietly:

“I can survive falling from the sky… but I still haven’t learned to survive when you choose to ignore me again and again, as if I never existed in your life.”

He was silent, looking at the sky, as if realizing something.
