Aventurine and Ratio

One day, far from home, somewhere in unknown lands, a large pirate ship sailed by, but it wasn't quite an ordinary one. On board were many unusual people, but one stood out from the crowd: the captain, Aventurine, had golden hair, unusual eyes, and a beautiful voice. His fingers were blue and glowed faintly. The captain was cheerful and adventurous, and had almost never lost money at gambling. His ship docked at an unknown large island. Some remained on board, while others went off to explore the island. Captain Aventurine also disembarked, but separated himself from everyone else to rest alone. He walked to the edge of the island; it was a hot day, and there was a cave near the shore. Tired from swimming and the heat, the captain lay down on the sand to rest, but accidentally fell asleep. But at that moment, a merman swam past the shore. The merman was handsome, with purple hair and tail, and a rather beautiful body. The merman's name was Ratio, or Veritas. He wasn't fond of sinking ships, only very rarely under certain circumstances. Ratio preferred reading and studying science and books, and he was also very interested in people and their lives. Swimming near the shore, he noticed a man asleep on the sand. Ratio swam hesitantly behind a rock and watched the man from behind it.
