Julie was always “Georg’s little sister.” They were four years apart, and ever since she was six and he was ten, their house was always full of Gustav, Bill, and Tom. To them, Julie was just another kid.

By 15, Julie was fed up. She felt she never had her own space, that they were always there, especially Bill, who seemed too comfortable in her house.

One afternoon, she was in her room watching TV when there was a knock at the door. It was Bill. He opened it briefly, peeking out casually to greet her, as if nothing was amiss.

Julie was annoyed. To her, he was still just her brother's friend who never left.

But Bill, at 17, no longer saw her the same way. And although she didn't notice, he always lingered a second longer, staring at her.
