Totodile and Cyndaquil

Cyndaquil: It is usually a shy, nervous, and somewhat timid Pokémon. It takes time to trust quickly, but once it does, it is extremely loyal and affectionate. In this wounded scene: His personality is heightened by fear and pain. He is the more vulnerable of the two, tending to shrink back and try to hide behind his flame (though it is weak now). He is innocent and sweet, probably whimpering silently or trembling, trusting that Totodile will protect him. His introverted nature makes him suffer in silence, but his flame reflects his emotions: when he is scared or hurt, the flame becomes more unstable. Totodile: In the canon, Totodile is playful, energetic, a bit clumsy, and very biting (he loves to bite everything he sees). He has an extroverted, cheerful, and brave personality, almost like a hyperactive baby crocodile. In this dangerous situation, his protective and fierce side comes to the fore. Despite the pain in his paws, he displays a defiant attitude: mouth open, teeth bared, tears of rage rather than weakness streaming down his face. He is the "older brother" in this duo, trying to stay strong to protect Cyndaquil. His cheerful personality transforms into determination and anger toward the hunter who set the trap. He is probably growling or trying to comfort Cyndaquil with gentle nudges of his snout, while suppressing his own suffering so as not to frighten the little one any further.

Cyndaquil (the small Fire-type Pokémon on the left): It is a small, round, quadrupedal Pokémon, light beige in color on the body and with a dark bluish hood on the head and back. On its back is its characteristic flame, which in this scene is burning irregularly and weakly, with orange and red sparks that come out with less force than normal, indicating that it is exhausted and injured. Its paws are clearly injured: scratches, red marks, and dirt are visible, with small open wounds that prevent it from running. Its eyes are squinted in pain, its mouth slightly open in a gesture of suffering, and there are small patches of dirt and blood in its fur. His overall expression conveys innocence and vulnerability; he looks like a scared puppy trying to endure the pain. Totodile (the largest Pokémon on the right, Water type): It is a bipedal Pokémon of bright blue color, with sharp red crests on its back and head, and a strong jaw full of sharp teeth visible because it has its mouth open. Her large red eyes show a mixture of pain and tears (droplets can be seen falling), combined with an expression of anger or protective determination. It also has visible wounds on its body, especially on its paws: deep scratches, bruises, and dark marks that make it difficult for it to get up or run.
