We, the Heroes of the End of the World, are considered a new branch of humanity, a species that emerged thanks to a phenomenon called Polyphenism. It is this process that allowed us to develop unique cells called Theseus Cells.

These cells allow us to survive in lethal concentrations of carbon dioxide without suffering any ill effects. And what's more… they give us superhuman abilities ranging from manipulating the weather to altering the composition of our own bodies.

Over time, we Heroes of the End of the World became the military core of our nations. Not by choice, but because Gaia outlawed weapons of mass destruction—missiles, nukes, everything—to prevent wars that would devastate the planet.
Because of this, a country without a Hero of the End of the World is practically defenseless if its hero leaves for another nation. Therefore, the more heroes a country has, the more invincible it is.
In total, there are 17 Heroes of the End of the World, including one who works directly for Gaia. The list is as follows:

Because of what we are… our Theseus Cells can recombine our body's properties when they become active. This is called Cellular Property Recombination, and it's what allows us to change, adapt, and… well, do the things we do.

Albie was born into poverty in a neglected neighborhood in the UK. He grew up amidst deprivation, surrounded by injustice and inequality. From a young age, he understood that the world was not a kind place, and he learned to survive in silence, hardening his character to avoid showing weakness.

In his adolescence, life's cruelty drove him to become cold, someone who seemed to feel nothing. But deep inside, a spark of humanity always burned, refusing to be extinguished. That spark was nurtured by Rose, his closest friend, who showed him the importance of kindness and trust. With her, he learned that even in the darkness, a ray of light could exist.

Tragedy struck when Rose died years ago. Albie could never forgive himself for failing to protect her. Since then, guilt has become his heaviest burden, but also the reason he decided to change.

Over time, his strength and discipline led him to become a renowned hero in his country, fighting on behalf of the United Kingdom. This change transformed him completely: although his outward appearance remained that of a cruel and aloof man, at heart he became thoughtful and noble. He donated much of his earnings to the poor, remembering his origins and ensuring that other children did not grow up as he had.

Techniques
Cabinet of Curiosities - Roses and Crows Cabinet of Curiosities: From Ashes to Roses, From Roses to Crows ( :と, Kyabinetto obu Kyurioshitīzu: From Bara to Karasu ): By concentrating all of his energy into his singular resonance and releasing it to the fullest, Albie can create a massive storm of deadly swords to finish off his opponent in a single blow. Two pairs of swords, "Creepy & Tudor Rose" (二枚の刃 『& 』, Ni-mai Ittsui no Yaiba『Kurīpī & Chūdā Rōzu』): A pair of special swords designed from Albie's Theseus Cells to support his immense strength, which can be quickly switched between his arms, legs, or feet depending on the situation.

Appearance
Albie is a small, slender teenager. He has pale skin and messy blond hair that reaches his chin, with bangs partially covering his tired violet eyes. During the events of the series, he is seen wearing an oversized olive-green jacket over a pale green and black combat suit with green accents.

When he uses his singular resonance, Albie's transformation manifests through his eyes turning black with tears of blood dripping from them, as well as monstrous-looking eyes on tendrils growing from his body.

Cellular Regeneration: Possessing Theseus Cells, their bodies can repair damage that would kill anyone else. This means they don't die from common illnesses or minor physical wear and tear, which could technically extend their youth and lifespan by decades or even centuries.
The Cost of Power: Using their special abilities generates immense biological stress. Every time they force their "evolution" to win a fight, they consume a massive amount of cellular energy. If a hero constantly fights at 100%, their body is likely to "burn out" prematurely, dying young but at their peak power.
Evolution vs. Aging: Evolution seeks survival, not necessarily longevity. If their environment (the Rekkyo Sensen war) requires them to be hyper-efficient killing machines, their bodies will prioritize current strength over aging.
In short: They have the "hardware" to be almost biologically immortal, but the "software" (their powers and the conflict) pushes them towards a violent death or extreme cellular exhaustion.

Superhuman Regeneration: Grants extreme healing abilities. Heroes can heal mortal wounds, punctured organs, or lost limbs in a matter of seconds during combat.
Enhanced Physical Attributes: They elevate strength, speed, and endurance to levels that surpass any natural human limit, allowing the body to withstand the immense energy load generated by its own powers.

TYPE-Resonance Nobody: "Jabberwocky" ( - :『ジャバウォック』, Taipu-Nōbodi Rizonanto: "Jabawokku") ): By tearing his tear glands, Albie can activate his unique resonance, allowing him to produce a mass of thick mist that he can manipulate at will. This mist is actually made of sharp metal fragments that he can use to protect himself or to severely damage his opponents with a simple touch, aiming for their eyes or lungs. The power of his attacks can be increased at close range by accumulating these fragments to form giant blades. [ 7 ]TYPE Nobody Resonance Special Resonance
His fog has proven to have incredible destructive power, as Albie, as a child, was able to single-handedly bring down the Tower of London Bridge. His high resonance rate of 89% also allows him to further increase the density and power of his fog to deliver a final blow, though this comes at a higher energy cost.

By using his abilities, Albie can grow tentacles with monstrous-looking eyes made of resonant material, allowing him to see clearly through his own mist, extend his field of vision, and constantly track his opponents. These eyes can also regenerate if destroyed. Olivia described this mist as a "blade fog" (霧状の刃, Kirijō no Yaiba).

Weakness: While Albie is incredibly powerful and versatile, his unique resonance can be countered by destroying his tear glands, where the core of his Theseus cells resides, nullifying his abilities and instantly incapacitating him.

Tastes or memories:

Albie: He likes sweet food, he also likes watching the sunset. Albie and Aiden would have been reading buddies in a peaceful world.

His favorite quote became what it is because of Albie's surprise when Rose's group first told it to him.
His birthday, November 20th, is actually the day he met Rose. His real date of birth is unknown.
According to the author, Natsuko Uruma, Aiden D. Adams, and Albie would have been reading companions in a peaceful world. [10]
His real name, Albert, was omitted from the manga to avoid confusion among readers, but Uruma eventually decided to reveal it online. [11]

Personality
Albie is generally a quiet and taciturn child, but he is easily angered, quickly becoming irritated by the presence of an audience on the monitor. These outbursts of irritation can intensify when he is faced with stressful situations or "noisy people," erupting in violent outbursts of anger. [1][2]

However, despite his apparent aggression, Albie proves to have a big heart. He cares deeply for his family, with Rose being a prime example. His love for her was such that, even years after her death, Albie decided to dedicate his life to protecting his country, donating all his money to the poor, fighting in the Battle to Overthrow the Nation, and even attempting to destroy Gaia on sight to achieve that goal.

Nor is he opposed to acting informally with people, as demonstrated when he laughed with Hasuichi and smilingly challenged him in the middle of battle, after the latter empathized with his pain. [ 3 ] [ 4 ]

Adding to his already complex personality, Albie has also displayed evident guilt for the people he indirectly killed, blaming himself for those who died on London Bridge and for the employee executed by Gaia as punishment for his insubordination, despite claiming he doesn't care about others. Because of this, he prefers to avoid unnecessary violence, giving Hasuichi several opportunities to surrender, and he dislikes being called a hero.
