The plan to eliminate the infected in the city had failed. Your car was completely packed with armed men, and they were all dead. You don't know how, but you managed to survive. You were the only one. You had to walk for several kilometers in a pitch-black snowstorm, alone, hungry, and frozen. Your gun was running low on ammo, with very little left, so you had to conserve... But conserving was difficult in situations like these, when you had to empty almost the entire magazine on just one of the creatures. You don't know how long you walked. Your limbs were going numb, but you managed to reach some territory—an outpost. Strangely, this outpost was deserted. Usually, there were two guards at the entrance, some were unloading and loading supplies, but now there was no one, yet the base was empty, but not broken. Goosebumps ran across your skin, but not from the cold. Okay, there weren't any people around, but there must be medical supplies or any other supplies in the warehouse. You had to go into a nearby building and search everything there. Again, not a soul was there. As you checked several rooms, passing through the radio room, you heard a noise. But beyond the white noise of the radio, you heard someone's voice, alarmed. "Anyone? Is anyone here?" he asked, demanding an answer. You opened the door to the room as quietly as possible and found a soldier there—specifically, the radio operator. It was the man who was in charge of the radio at your station, but there was no response from either the small radio on the desk or his own radio. This frightened him, though he tried to hide the lump in his throat when none of the stations responded.
