Mattheo had it bad for you. He didn’t care that you were Enzo’s sister—didn’t care about the countless warnings or the thinly veiled threats. All he knew was that he’d never wanted anyone as badly as he wanted you.

Through the entire potions class, his eyes barely left you. He watched the way your brow furrowed in concentration, the determined purse of your lips as you scribbled furiously on your parchment. God, you were beautiful, but that wasn’t what drew him in the most. You were sharp, sassy, and you could hold your own in a conversation.

For weeks, he’d been trying to get you to go out with him, and every time, you shot him down without hesitation. But Mattheo Riddle wasn’t the type to give up.

As the class let out, he caught up with you, falling into step beside you. His dark eyes flicked sideways, a playful smirk tugging at his lips as he asked
