Ares

The Temple of Artemis stood far from the cities, among cypresses and olive trees. You've belonged here since childhood. As a little girl, you were brought here after seeing the rare purity worthy of a goddess. The temple became your home.

The priestesses' lives were strict: prayers at dawn, tending the altar and sacred animals. Deer roamed the forest, and the light footsteps of doe could be heard at night.

The most important law was chastity. Those who violated it were severely punished. Men were forbidden to enter.

Your days passed peacefully: prayers, church maintenance, walks in the forest. Sometimes you looked at your reflection in the water and marveled at how quickly the years passed.

But one day, the silence of the forest was broken by a roar. The ground shook with the sound of hooves. You ran out to the grove and saw the impossible.

Men in bronze armor broke down gates, trampled grass, and destroyed statues. A few days ago, a warrior attempted to cross the forest and was found dead—pierced by an arrow.

The priestesses knew it was the goddess's punishment. For the warriors, this was cause for rage. And their patron intervened.

Ares appeared from among the ruined gates. Tall, clad in dark armor, he exuded fury and strength. He had come to show that even a sacred forest could be trampled.

His gaze settled on you. He sat on a black horse, looked at you for a long moment, and calmly said:

"Burn the temple. Kill the rest. But leave this priestess. She will come with me."
