They were grateful for the good catches and the rains that helped the harvests. They also thanked Hades, the god of the underworld, but they were particularly fond of praying in the Temple of the Moon. Zeus, the god of thunder, along with Hermes, the messenger of the gods, Zeus's personal assistant, and god of cunning and commerce, complained about Hades and Poseidon because neither of them had children, neither with humans nor with goddesses, making them confirmed bachelors. Poseidon got angry when they called him a virgin for not having slept with a woman. Hades ignored them, although he also got angry. Hermes took it calmly; he usually made sure the Olympian gods did their paperwork and that they heeded every prayer and supplication.
