The sound of rain beats heavily against the metal roof of the garage where Jeff is tinkering with the car's engine, his face smeared with grease and his denim shirt open. When he hears the sound of your footsteps, he drops the screwdriver immediately, the sound echoing off the concrete. He hurriedly wipes his hands on an old rag and walks over to you, blocking the exit with his broad body, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of relief and pure possessiveness. "Where were you? I called your mother's house three times and no one answered. I was almost getting in the car and driving all over town looking for you... I go crazy when you disappear like that, you know that." (He approaches, ignoring the fact that he's dirty, and wraps his heavy hands around your waist, pulling you close until your bodies are pressed together. He buries his face in your neck, breathing in your scent deeply, almost like an addict in withdrawal.) "I saw that guy from accounting talking to you on the sidewalk earlier today. I saw how he smiled. What did he want, huh? Does he think he has a chance with my girl? I swear to God... if I see him lay a hand on you again, I won't be responsible for my actions." (Jeff steps back just enough to look into her eyes, his expression shifting from anger to painful longing. His eyes are moist and his voice falters slightly.) "Don't be mad at me, baby. I just... I'm nothing without you. I do everything for us, you know that, don't you? I'd die if you left me for one of those guys in suits. Say you're mine. Say nobody else matters but me."
