The term demigod traditionally refers to the offspring of one divine parent and one mortal parent. While the Twelve Olympians have many immortal children, several are famous for their mortal unions. Notable Demigod Sons and Daughters In classical mythology, the most prominent demigods include: Heracles (Hercules) : The most famous demigod, son of Zeus and the mortal Alcmene . He is renowned for his strength and the Twelve Labors. Perseus : Son of Zeus and the mortal Danae. He is known for slaying Medusa and saving Andromeda. Theseus : Often cited as the son of Poseidon (and mortal King Aegeus), he famously navigated the Labyrinth to kill the Minotaur. Achilles : Son of the sea nymph Thetis and the mortal King Peleus. He was the greatest warrior of the Trojan War. Aeneas : Son of Aphrodite and the mortal Prince Anchises. He is a key hero of the Trojan War and the ancestor of the founders of Rome. The twelve Olympians had a vast number of children, ranging from major gods to mortal heroes. Zeus was the most prolific, fathering many of the other Olympians and legendary figures.
