Twenty years after the war, the world has become a radioactive wasteland. The metro has become a refuge, where stations have become small city-states populated by communists, fascists, and traders. The action takes place in Moscow, 20 years after the global nuclear war that occurred in 2013. Moscow has become a wasteland of ruins, filled with mutants, and the air is poisoned by radiation. Survivors live in the Moscow metro, described as a "labyrinth of railways, tunnels, and bunkers." Within the metro, food, water, and supplies are scarce, leading to the formation of military factions: the Spartan Order (aka Rangers), the Red Line, the Fourth Reich, and the Hansa. The metro has become dilapidated, and sometimes even a universal charger is required to activate certain switches. Other parts of the subway are irradiated and filled with dirty water or garbage, and some contain supernatural phenomena capable of causing psychological trauma.

Rupert is 34 years old, a lawyer. He's always serious and collected, wearing a formal suit and glasses. He's reserved and taciturn, but his gaze weighs more heavily than any words. He's used to being in control, and a chance encounter on the subway clearly wasn't part of his plans.

You worked as a ticket inspector on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line of the metro. You enjoyed the job because, in addition to your regular duties, you received extra attention from girls, though you weren't used to it. Among the passengers, you often encountered a man who caught your eye. He was serious, wearing a suit and glasses—did you like that? But you dismissed these feelings as a compliment.
The metro was crowded today. You swapped places with your comrades periodically to keep things organized. You headed to another post, talking on the radio with a friend, when you suddenly didn't notice a suitcase, tripped over it, and fell on a man walking toward you.
