Synopsis
After the devastating Shibuya Incident, where Sukuna took control of Yuji Itadori's body and caused a massacre, the world of sorcery was left in ruins. Gojo Satoru was sealed within the Mortal Prison by Kenjaku (who was occupying Geto Suguru's body), leaving high-level sorcerers without their greatest pillar. In the following days, Kenjaku, hidden in the shadows, began to prepare his ultimate plan. Meanwhile, the few surviving sorcerers (Yuji, Megumi, Panda, Maki, Yuta, and others) tried to regroup and understand what had happened. Maki Zen'in, having survived with severe injuries, returned to the Zen'in clan and, in an act of rage and catharsis, massacred virtually her entire family, including her father and most of the main members. Naoya Zen'in, one of the heirs, was killed by Maki during this purge, but his soul was captured by the reincarnation mechanism that Kenjaku was already secretly activating. In the days leading up to the start of the game, Kenjaku traveled across Japan activating hidden barriers and awakening the sorcery potential in millions of ordinary civilians. Finally, just days after Shibuya, Kenjaku activated the Sacrifice Game, turning all of Japan into a battlefield divided into closed colonies. Millions of ordinary people suddenly awoke as sorcerers and were forced to participate in a brutal survival ritual whose true purpose was still unknown to most.
What happened after Shibuya?
After the devastating Shibuya Incident, the sorcery world is plunged into chaos. Gojo Satoru is sealed within the Mortal Prison by Kenjaku (who possesses Suguru Geto's body), leaving sorcerers without their greatest pillar of strength. Yuji Itadori, having lost control of his body to Sukuna, is blamed for the massacre and becomes a fugitive hunted by the jujutsu community. Meanwhile, Kenjaku puts his ultimate plan into action: he activates the Culling Game, a massive ritual that transforms all of Japan into a battlefield divided into barrier-enclosed colonies. Millions of ordinary civilians suddenly awaken as sorcerers and are forced to participate in a brutal battle royale where they must accumulate points by killing other participants. In this new scenario, Yuji, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zen'in, and the few remaining sorcerers fight to survive, rescue allies, and stop Kenjaku. The game brings with it the reincarnation of ancient sorcerers, the emergence of powerful new players, and the revelation of dark secrets about the history of sorcery. The tension increases with the constant threat of Sukuna, who remains dormant within Yuji, and with the characters' gradual evolution into stronger, darker forms.
Our protagonists' goal
After the Shibuya Incident, Yuji Itadori's primary goal becomes stopping Kenjaku and destroying the Culling Game. Having witnessed the carnage Sukuna caused within his own body and the sealing of Gojo Satoru, Yuji feels profound guilt and responsibility. His objective evolves from simply "saving people" to dismantling the system that is destroying Japan. He wants to free Gojo Satoru from the Death Prison, stop Kenjaku's plan to merge with Tengen and forcibly evolve humanity, end the Culling Game so innocent civilians are no longer forced to kill each other, find a way to remove Sukuna from his body without dying in the process, or at least prevent Sukuna from causing further destruction, and protect his friends (Megumi, Nobara, Yuta, Maki, etc.) to give them a future where they don't have to constantly fight. Yuji struggles with the idea that he is "a vessel" and "a curse," but his determination remains to save as many people as possible and break the cycle of hatred and death that Kenjaku has started. His ultimate goal is to create a world where sorcerers and civilians can live without the constant terror of curses and deadly games.
Point system
Participants earn points exclusively by eliminating (killing) other participants. The value of each life is determined by the Game Master (Kenjaku). As a general rule, a sorcerer or cursed spirit is worth 5 points, while a non-sorcerer (civilian) is worth 1 point. However, the Game Master may adjust a player's value based on their strength, threat level, or demonstrated performance in the game (exceptionally strong players may be worth more than 5 points). Points are reported to the player via a shikigami that automatically appears upon entering the colony. This shikigami takes the form of a small, floating creature resembling an eye or a luminous sphere and acts as a living notification system. When a player eliminates another, the shikigami immediately appears before the winner and loudly announces the number of points earned and their accumulated total. It also displays the current point ranking within the colony. The shikigami is intangible to others and can only be seen and heard by the player. It cannot be damaged or destroyed. With 100 points, a player can spend that amount to propose a new rule to the Game Master, who must accept it as long as it does not have a lasting negative effect on the game itself. Existing rules cannot be removed, only new ones can be added. This system forces participants to constantly hunt to accumulate points, turning the game into a brutal battle royale where survival depends on eliminating others.
Rules of the Sacrifice Game
The Sacrifice Game is a mass ritual imposed by Kenjaku that transforms Japan into a battlefield divided into several colonies enclosed by invisible barriers. The main rules are as follows:
- All participants (normal humans whose potential as sorcerers has been awakened) are forced to enter the colonies.
- To survive and accumulate points, participants must kill other participants or complete specific missions within the colony.
- Each elimination of a participant awards points (the amount varies depending on the level of the objective).
- Participants cannot voluntarily leave the colony once they have entered. Attempting to escape has serious consequences.
- Participants can add new rules to the game by spending a certain number of points on a "vote". If the majority approves the rule, it applies to all colonies.
- There is no official time limit or declared final winner; the game is designed to continue indefinitely until Kenjaku's ultimate goal is achieved.
- Death is permanent. If a participant dies, they lose all their points and are eliminated. Within the colonies, barriers prevent unauthorized entry or exit, creating an isolated environment where only survival and point accumulation matter.
