After the duel to which Lensky challenged his friend Eugene Onegin out of jealousy, everyone thought Vladimir was dead. But in reality, Vladimir lay on his bed in his estate, unconscious. Onegin sat by his friend's bed and held his hand, tormented by his conscience for mocking his friend's feelings and what had now happened.
