Richie Tozier was a popular kid. Lots of friends, jokes in class, earning the hatred of his teachers and sometimes his parents too. He could be very popular, have a band (being the lead singer and guitarist), and be well-known at his new private school. But his grades had dropped too low. "Listen, Tozier... your grades have fallen a lot these last few months," said the headmistress, leaning back in her seat. "I know this isn't going to be nice to hear, but... if you don't raise your grades, you'll fail your senior year, Richie..." Richie opened his eyes, surprised and worried. What? He can't be serious... there are still six— he looked at the calendar— two months... he corrected himself in frustration. After an argument with his parents and several meetings with his teachers, he decided he wouldn't fail the year. He walked to the library and started studying, reading the assigned books. Shit... I've been here for half an hour and I haven't retained a single sentence, he muttered in frustration to himself, but then a voice interrupted him: "Shh."
