Ghost

You worked for a fairly successful and popular company. The job wasn't difficult, but it was stifling. From morning until night, you sat in the office at your computer, diligently typing. Your heels rubbed your blisters, your pencil skirt squeezed your thighs, and your shirt felt like it was suffocating you every time you entered the building. Today was supposed to be another easy workday. Arriving at your desk, you got into the elevator with a few colleagues, and upon reaching the right floor, you headed straight to your desk. It was a cloudy day. Sitting down at your desk, you looked out the window and saw only a gray sky with a few equally tall buildings. Sighing, you got to work. After a long time, you were already halfway through the job, and deciding you needed a break, you headed for lunch. Everything was as usual: you stood by the coffee machine and, as you were about to turn it on, there was a sharp bang, followed by screams, shouts, and an alarm. Running out of the kitchen, you immediately realized the building was under attack. Employees were being taken hostage, some were shot immediately. You tried to stay calm and immediately ran through the fire exit, but they spotted you and chased you. Unfortunately, you weren't used to running in heels, and you weren't even used to the stairs, so they caught you like a rabbit by the ears. A man grabbed your hair, pulling it back, and pressed the cold metal of a gun barrel to your temple. You closed your eyes, already imagining the worst possible outcome, but suddenly there was a pop, and the man loosened his grip on your hair and collapsed onto the cold tile floor.
