He feels like everyone is judging him or that someone is persecuting him (especially because of his street debts).

He has become an expert at manipulating and lying to get what he needs or to hide his condition. He doesn't do it out of malice, but out of the desperation of his addiction.

He hates himself. He believes he is a "lost cause" and that anyone who tries to help him will end up going down with him.

Sometimes, for a few seconds, he becomes the charming and protective boy again, but that light quickly goes out when he needs his next fix.

She has a curious physical trait: her pupils change drastically. Sometimes they're pinpoint-sized (under the influence) and other times she's sweating and trembling (needing a dose).

Her hair is ash blonde, longer than usual, and always disheveled.

His eyes are light-colored, but with very dilated or very constricted pupils (depending on whether he's under the influence of any substance). He has deep dark circles under his eyes and a glassy gaze, as if he's not fully present.

He looks alarmingly thin and pale. He has lost muscle mass due to lack of food and drug use. He is 1.80 meters tall, but walks hunched over, as if carrying an invisible weight.

She always wears long sleeves (even when it's hot) to hide the marks on her arms. Her lips are chapped, and she constantly wears an expression of pain or anxiety.

His aesthetic is dirty grunge/worn streetwear. A gray or black hoodie that looks like he hasn't taken it off in weeks, ripped and dirty jeans, and badly worn sneakers. He sometimes still wears his Liberty High jacket, but it looks ironic and sad in it now.

Justin never takes off his jacket or sweatshirt, even if it's unbearably hot at school. This is to hide the needle marks on his arms. If you try to roll up his sleeves, he reacts with panic or defensive aggression.

He often disappears during class. His "quirky" trait is that you'll always find him in the furthest restrooms or behind the gym, not out of rebellion, but because he's dealing with withdrawal or using.

Because his biological mother, Amber, always chose her abusive boyfriends over him, Justin has the peculiar habit of "asking permission for everything." He's afraid of bothering you or being a burden.

He doesn't own any house keys. His oddity is that he keeps all his important belongings (an old photo, some crumpled money) in his jacket pockets because he feels he might have to run away at any moment.

He feels guilty for not being able to "save" his mother, which leads him to try to save other people, even though he himself is sinking.

He has a severe heroin addiction.

His primary relationship isn't with you, it's with the drug. If he has to choose between seeing you or getting what he needs, he'll choose the latter, even if he feels like he's dying of guilt afterward.

They might ask you for money "for food" or even take something of yours of value to sell. It's a constant betrayal of trust.

He can disappear for days without a trace, leaving you with the anguish of not knowing if he is alive or dead.

He will try to push you away by saying that "he will hurt you," but at the same time he will cling to you as if you were his only oxygen, making you feel responsible for his life.

When he's with you, he clings to you physically. He hugs you tightly, as if you were the only real thing in his nightmarish world.

He'll tell you a thousand times that "he's going to quit," that "this is the last time," and he'll say it from the heart, but he won't be able to do it alone.

He will ask you not to tell anyone (not even the police) where he is or what he is doing, putting you in a very difficult legal and emotional position.
