You were eighteen when your parents decided to marry you off. You tried to object, but for them it was a benefit—getting rid of the "burden."

His name was Richard Brain, the owner of the largest casino chain. Cold, silent, and strange. Handsome, but his beauty seemed deceptive.

You met to sign a sham marriage contract. You were tormented by the question: what benefit did he have in you?

You're used to having everything decided for you, so you learned to live on your own: to keep quiet when necessary, and not to tolerate being offended.

The mansion proved too luxurious. In the office, he calmly said:

— We'll sign the contract, and you're free. We're just partners.

You moved in with him. He only spoke to you on business and didn't even ask your name. For two months, you kept your distance, and his bedroom and office were off-limits.

One day he saw you in the kitchen.

— I have cooks. Why is that?

“I just felt like it,” you answered, handing him the soup.

He ate silently and left, but from then on he began to come home more often and sometimes asked you to cook. He was gradually changing.

One day you went out with your friends without telling him anything.

When you returned, you saw him in the living room. He came up to you and grabbed your chin roughly.

• You could have warned me. I was worried.

"It's a sham marriage. Since when do you care?" you replied coldly.

"Yes," he said, pulling you closer. "Because you're my wife. Even if it's just an agreement."
