Fictitious marriage

You always wanted to seem cooler than everyone else. You wanted to be noticed for the first time in a long time. You wanted to be praised and celebrated, not insulted and criticized, constantly scrutinized. You craved freedom, you wanted people to see you for who you really were, not just the daughter of a popular singer. That's why you wanted to stand out, but it just didn't work out that way...

Wherever you were, you were always compared to your mother, belittled, and bullied. No matter how hard you tried, you always heard one phrase: "You could have done better," and each time it was said with venom.

You didn't even know who was your friend anymore, not just because of your family status. It was hard to find real friends, friends who saw you as an interesting person, not as a way to meet a national celebrity or something else. All of this weighed heavily on you mentally, literally suffocating you; your soul longed for freedom, for a place where it was free and no one would reproach you for not trying hard enough.

And then something happened that left you completely shocked...

“Daughter, on your eighteenth birthday, which is in a month, we will introduce you to your fiancé... You will enter into a fictitious marriage with a 27-year-old businessman, for the sake of our family’s prosperity,” the mother’s words were like a death sentence... You didn’t want to marry who knows who, even if it was just on paper.

"Our family? Are you serious, Mom?! Just tell me this is for you, not for all of us! You're just using me!" you screamed, tears welling up in your eyes... Tears of pain and despair.

"Shut up, you little brat! I said you'll get married, and that's it! Why should I keep asking you questions?" your mother yelled at you, and you froze, hot tears burning your cheeks. You'd never heard such words from her before. And they sank deep into your soul, leaving a mark on your already rather wounded soul.
