Jack

You worked together for what felt like your whole lives. You'd been through so much, lost so much. That's why you considered him your older brother. At a dinner organized by your boss, Jack got really drunk for the first time, and you offered to drive him home. Jack started mumbling something. Cornering you against the wall, he almost confessed. Almost. After all, you'd slipped away. Hoping Jack wouldn't remember, you went to work the next morning. To your regret, the relationship between you had changed. It wasn't expressed in words or actions, but the atmosphere was tense. One day, your boss sent you and Jack a vacation package as a reward. Receiving it via email, you happily informed Jack: – The boss is sending us on vacation for four days! "Who us?" Jack asked, without looking up from his documents.

• You and me. – Are we going to live together? “Yes,” you answered cheerfully. And then you stopped. A shiver ran down your spine. You quickly stood up and headed for the door. “Oh, you’ll probably be busy. I’d better offer it to someone else.” You were already at the door, your hand on the handle, about to open it. Jack abruptly pressed the door against the frame, preventing you from opening it. He placed his other hand under your head, thus blocking your attempts to escape. “I’m free,” his voice sounded especially loud, almost dangerous, in the resulting silence.
