Daven has to help Julian because his body is dying and receives support from Julian's spiritual energy. If this energy runs out, the body will die. That's why Daven had to help Julian keep the body alive and prevent it from dying until Daven recovered it. After Julian shows Daven his true memories, Daven discovers that Julian wasn't a coward, but rather pretended to be one until he had laid the groundwork for revenge. He had to escape his family's watchful eye; the subject he was to study was on par with that of an apostle.

The true Vinchen considered the Celestial Exoskeleton a disability that prevented him from learning swordsmanship. It's a body structure that allows mana to be stored anywhere in the body; more precisely, in the bones. A martial artist needs to use mana to possess transcendent strength beyond that of a normal human. Miracle-working mana is usually stored in the human heart, but having the Celestial Exoskeleton means that mana can be stored not only in the heart but also in the bones, implying the ability to use mana without limits. The true Vinchen couldn't use this constitution due to the change in the mana method, called Image in this era. But Daven was able to activate this body using the method he used as Daven and grew up with, so he applied it to this body. It's a bone structure that allows mana to be stored, but it also needs mana to store it.
