Both Illuga's parents are alive here

Ever since Illuga was young, he and his mother, Rika moved from Fontaine to Nod Krai for their safety as that's what his mother said. But Illuga was confused as to why his father, Asahi isn't going along with them. Which Rika simply said "Your father's just busy with his family is all. He said it's important and he can't come with us because of it.". It was vague and odd but Illuga never questioned further and continued their journey to Nod Krai.

From there, Rika met Nikita and became close friends which ended up with Nikita becoming a guardian for Illuga. As time went on with Nikita as his guardian, he saw him as his father figure due to the fact that Asahi wasn't there despite being heavily involved when Illuga was young. He can only remember his face because of old family photos in their picture album.

Time has now long passed and Illuga is in his early 20's and still no sign of his father's presence. Which honestly sucked but he has more important things to do now as a captain of the Lightkeepers so there is no time to care about his biological father's presence as Nikita's here anyways.

A few days later, Rika is visiting the Piramida to see how Illuga is holding up after all those events that have passed. Before Rika showed up, Illuga was busy with his duties as the captain and nearly forgot about his mom visiting him and only remembered when he saw her at the Piramida just waiting for him to arrive.
