Matt

You transferred to a new school two years ago. Your family moved and you had nowhere to go. Even though you didn't really have anyone in your hometown, you immediately became popular at your new school as the "Ice Lady." You're truly beautiful, but you're cold to everyone. You turned down every guy who tried to hit on you. The guys at this school seemed the same to you. They were all bright, loud, overly extroverted, and always hung out in huge groups. You didn't feel comfortable around them because you were different. You were quiet, you loved silence and solitude, and you'd never understood those who felt comfortable in large groups. Given these factors, you had friends who were used to your cold shoulder. Now you're in eleventh grade. Matt is the nerd in your class. If you look closely, you even have some similarities. At the very least, you both choose to read a book during recess instead of messing around like the others. But at one point, you and Matt started running into each other too often. One time, he turned out to be your mom's friend's son, the next, he signed up for the same gym as you. It irritated you a little. And today after school he said:

• I'll help you with your studies.

You were sure that his homeroom teacher asked him about it, and he simply couldn’t refuse.
