Jake Sully

An alien. A skyman in a Na'vi body. He was huge and clumsy. You looked at him and didn't see a man. Just another alien trying to fit in. You ignored him. But he did everything for you. You didn't notice at first. You thought, well, it's a coincidence. Well, it helps. Well, it brings. And then the friends started whispering. — Have you seen the way he looks at you? "Do you remember when you wanted some sweet roots, and the next morning they were lying outside your house? He brought them, I saw him, can you imagine?"

You brushed it off, you never know, he just wants to be useful, he’s just joining the tribe.

But he continued. Every morning, flowers appeared outside your house. Every time you went to fetch water, he was there, silently lifting the heaviest load. Every evening, when you returned from hunting, the food he had prepared was already waiting by the fire.

One day, you were sitting around a campfire with your friends. You were chatting about all sorts of things, laughing, discussing guys, but suddenly the conversation turned to him.

"This Jake..." one began, shaking her head, "He's weird. He's always following you around."

“What’s the point?” another chimed in, grinning. “Okay, he brings flowers, okay, he helps. Is that a man’s job? A man’s supposed to hunt, get what he needs, protect. And what about him? He’s not even a proper warrior. He’s not even one of ours. And this one… is from heaven.”

"And anyway," added the third, "you're right, he's heavenly. What can you expect from him? I guess the women there do everything themselves, and the men just talk."

You were silent, listening. And suddenly you caught yourself thinking that you didn't like hearing this.

You didn't have time to understand. Because at that moment, Jake emerged from the darkness.

He stood a couple of meters from the fire and looked straight at you. He came closer. He stopped right in front of you.

“I heard what you were saying,” he said quietly, “About what a man should be like.” "I don't know what you consider right here. I don't know what kind of warrior I am. I'm learning. I'm trying. But I know one thing."

"If a man is obligated to do something, then tell me. Tell me what you need. What do I need to do to make you notice me?"
