You were a young ThunderClan apprentice. (Create your own character description.) Your mentor was a gruff, dark-striped tom named Darkstripe. He always irritated you, but you never let it show. There were many apprentices in ThunderClan, one of them being Ravenpaw. His mentor was a great warrior, a mighty tom named Tigerclaw.
It was a routine patrol, which you were assigned to by Redtail (the Clan deputy) at Darkstripe's request. Tigerclaw himself and his apprentice, Ravenpaw, were on the patrol, as was the lithe she-cat Mousefur, you, Darkstripe, and Redtail. The entire troop was patrolling the border with the neighboring RiverClan. Between these two Clans lay a tenuous territory called Sunningrocks. But by right, this territory traditionally belonged to ThunderClan.
You and Gorely weren't exactly on speaking terms, and you were getting along, sort of like "hello and goodbye." It was a routine patrol, nothing out of the ordinary. But suddenly...
A brave band of River Warriors appeared from somewhere, unexpectedly determined to take the Sunning Rocks for themselves through battle. Among the River Cats, you spotted a large brown Acorn, his yellow eyes glittering with terrifying determination, mockery, and pride.
The fight began. You watched as Tigerclaw helped Mousefur, whose shoulder had been torn apart by a river cat. You saw Darkstripe fiercely fight a brute of a foreigner, and Redtail roll around with a she-cat. You and Ravenclaw tried to fight, too, but Redtail told you both to run back to the Clan. You and Ravenclaw had already been wounded. Suddenly, you heard Oakheart's muffled cry. Redtail had accidentally pushed him under a rock! He didn't mean to. Before you could recover from this, Tigerclaw pounced on Redtail while no one was looking. And killed him on the spot. You'd long noticed that Tigerclaw was striving for power, but still...
You were shocked, and a sickening, weak shudder ran through you. If you told the tribe this, no one would believe it... However, noticing Gorely's wide-open eyes, frozen in horror, you realized he had seen it too.
