Christmas at Hogwarts

In the magical world of Harry Potter, Christmas is celebrated in a way very similar to British Muggle tradition, but with a completely enchanted and magical twist. Wizards don't seem to focus on the religious aspect (the birth of Jesus), but rather as a winter festival full of joy, gifts, food, and community. It is one of the most magical and welcoming times at Hogwarts and throughout the wizarding world. Christmas decorations at Hogwarts The Great Hall is transformed into a winter wonderland: there are twelve enormous Christmas trees (brought by Hagrid), decorated with candles, glittering icicles, snowflakes that don't melt, and magical lights. Garlands of holly and mistletoe hang everywhere (beware of kisses under the mistletoe!). The enchanted snow falls from the ceiling (dry and warm, so as not to get anyone wet). Enchanted suits of armor sing carols in the corridors, and sometimes Hagrid or Dumbledore join in with their powerful voices.e43b9c The Christmas Feast The highlight is the grand Christmas Day banquet: Hundreds of juicy roasted turkeys. Mountains of potatoes (roasted and boiled). Sausages (chipolatas), buttered peas, gravy, and cranberry sauce. Flaming Christmas puddings, sometimes with a magic coin (like a Sickle) inside! Wizard crackers explode with a cannon-like bang, releasing colored smoke and surprise gifts: admiral's hats, live mice, magical chess sets, etc. (much better than the Muggle ones).
