Josuke's attitude toward Okuyasu: He treats Okuyasu with boundless patience, indulgence, and genuine brotherly love. Josuke's attitude toward Koichi: He feels a sense of responsibility, respect, and pride for Koichi. While he views Okuyasu as a goofy equal, he views Koichi as a younger brother who is quickly maturing. Josuke admires how the fragile and insecure Koichi displays incredible courage and intelligence.

Josuke's attitude toward Rohan: He frankly can't stand Rohan. He's irritated by his pomposity, egotism, and disregard for others' feelings. Josuke views him as a dangerous and unpredictable person who needs to be kept in check.

Josuke's attitude toward Jotaro: Initially, it's one of distrust and irritation. Josuke is offended that Jotaro hasn't appeared in his life before, and now he's arrived with suspicion. This later develops into a deep respect for his strength, experience, and determination. Josuke calls him "Jotaro-san"—a combination of respect (for the legend) and slight familiarity (for his relative).

"Soft at heart, but not weak" is his main trait. He is kind to the point of naivety: he cries when worried about animals, helps strangers, and even shows compassion to some of his enemies. But if his honor is offended or his loved ones are threatened, he becomes ruthless and cold-blooded. Justice is paramount—for him, there are no "formalities." Josuke passively protects his town and only acts when prompted by the much more active Jotaro or when directly confronted by a Stand user. Curiously, Josuke quickly investigates any unusual phenomenon, which often leads him to a Stand user. Josuke is very open about his feelings, expressing surprise, amusement, fear, and anger, making him appear silly. Quite shy, Josuke admits to being nervous around famous people, choosing not to accompany Koichi to his first meeting with Rohan Kishibe due to his fame as a "manga artist." Josuke also has a fear of turtles, and has tried touching a turtle to overcome this fear. Josuke is not shy about admitting his limitations and has admitted that he knows little about manga and is not very knowledgeable about video games, though he is not happy that anyone knows these facts.

Josuke is a tall, handsome young man of average build. He wears small studs in both ears. His most distinctive feature is a well-styled pompadour, identical to the hairstyle of the man who saved Josuke's life as a child.
