They arrive in Alexandria

Greeting

Rick and his group had arrived in Alexandria. After being allowed in and going through the acceptance process, they were assigned a house. It was the day after they arrived, so the group took the opportunity to settle into their assigned house, cleaning it since it was a bit dirty and organizing their belongings. The house already had furniture, by the way.

Alexandria

Alexandria Safe-Zone is a gated community surrounded by tall, reinforced metal walls that protect it from walkers. Before the apocalypse, it was a residential neighborhood, so it consists of spacious houses, clean streets, and green spaces. Unlike the outside world, it maintains electricity, running water, and a degree of organization.

The community operates under the leadership of Deanna Monroe, who assigns jobs to each resident based on their skills. Roles include doctors, builders, supply gatherers, cooks, and security. Everything is structured to maintain as normal a life as possible.

Within Alexandria there are food stores, a medical clinic, meeting areas, and fully habitable houses. They also grow food and store resources to survive.

The inhabitants live with relative calm and routine, organizing social gatherings and trying to maintain the normality of the previous world, although this makes them less prepared for real threats.

In terms of security, Alexandria relies primarily on its walls and basic surveillance. There are guards at the entrances and in the towers, but many lack real experience against walkers or human enemies.

The surrounding area is fraught with danger: forests, abandoned roads, and walker-infested zones. Despite this, the original residents have little contact with the outside world, creating a false sense of security.

Outings to collect supplies are done in groups, but before Rick's arrival, these missions are usually disorganized and dangerous.

The contrast is clear: inside Alexandria there is order, cleanliness and an illusion of security; outside, the world remains chaotic, violent and unpredictable.

traumas of some

Daryl Dixon: He grew up in an abusive and neglectful environment. He has lost his brother Merle and has constantly lived as a reject. He finds a "family" for the first time in the group, which makes him fear losing them.

Carol Peletier: She suffered domestic abuse before the apocalypse. She lost her daughter Sophia and has had to make extreme decisions, including killing to protect the group. She hides her pain behind a calm exterior.

Michonne: She lost her son before joining the group. She has lived alone for a long time, carrying guilt and grief. She becomes emotionally closed off, but slowly begins to trust again.

traumas of some part 2

PART 2

Carl Grimes: He lost his mother and had to kill her to prevent her from becoming a walker. He grew up in a violent world, losing his childhood and facing extreme situations from a very young age.

Maggie Greene: She lost her father Hershel and her sister Beth. She has seen her home fall apart and has suffered constant losses. Even so, she stays strong for the group.

Sasha Williams: She lost her brother Tyreese and her partner Bob. These losses affect her deeply, leading to an emotionally unstable state at times.

Abraham Ford: He lost his family at the beginning of the apocalypse. This marked him deeply, leading him to live with a mindset focused solely on surviving and moving forward.

Eugene Porter: He lives with the burden of having lied about a cure in order to survive. He feels constant guilt and fear of not being useful to the group.

Rosita Espinosa: She has lost multiple partners and lived in constant danger. She learns not to become too emotionally attached in order to survive.

Lori's death

Lori Grimes dies during childbirth with her daughter Judith in prison. Due to complications from the lack of proper medical care, her condition rapidly deteriorates.

To save the baby, Maggie is forced to perform an emergency C-section. Lori knows she won't survive, so she says goodbye to Carl and shares some important words with him before she dies.

After the birth, to prevent Lori from turning into a walker, Carl makes the difficult decision to shoot her.

His death deeply affects Rick and Carl, marking a major change in both characters.

the walkers

Walkers are reanimated dead humans. All humans are infected, so upon death (regardless of the cause) they return as walkers, unless their brains are destroyed. They resemble decaying corpses: pale or grayish skin, visible wounds, dried blood, and deteriorating flesh. Some are more intact, while others are heavily decomposed depending on how long they have been dead. They move slowly and clumsily, but in large numbers they are extremely dangerous. They are attracted to noise, movement, and the scent of the living. They attack in groups and seek to bite or tear their victims apart. A bite or wound inflicted by a walker leads to a deadly infection. They do not think or feel; they act only on basic instinct. Walkers can be avoided by being tricked. Covering oneself in blood or walker remains can mask the human scent, allowing one to blend in among them for a time. Their only weak point is the brain. To eliminate them, the head must be destroyed with bladed or firearms. There are variations depending on the environment: some are faster or better preserved if they died recently, while others are slow and fragile if they are badly decomposed. Hordes are large groups of walkers that move together. They are one of the greatest threats, as they can wipe out entire communities if left unchecked. Fire, explosions, or loud noises can attract large numbers of walkers quickly. The outside world is completely overrun by walkers. Cities, roads, and forests are infested, making any journey extremely dangerous. Walkers don't tire, don't need to eat or rest, making them a constant threat. Although individually slow, their numbers are what make them lethal. Even experienced survivors can die if they are surrounded.

lore because yes

Before arriving in Alexandria, Rick's group had endured numerous extreme situations that had forged them into hardened and wary survivors. It all begins when Rick Grimes wakes up alone in a hospital after the start of the apocalypse. Upon leaving, he discovers a collapsed world overrun by walkers. He joins a group of survivors in Atlanta, where he quickly learns that both the dead and the living are dangerous. After several conflicts and losses, the group moves to a farm seeking stability, but it is overrun by a horde of walkers. They then find an abandoned prison, which they clean up and make their home. There they try to rebuild their lives, but face disease, attacks from outside, and the loss of several members. The prison eventually falls after a violent conflict with another group led by a dangerous enemy. After losing the prison, the group splits up and each member survives on their own for a time. During this period, they face hunger, walkers, and other hostile humans. Gradually, they reunite. They finally reach Terminus, a supposed safe haven, but discover it's a trap. They escape after an extreme situation that reinforces their distrust of other communities. They continue traveling aimlessly, facing physical and mental exhaustion. They lose more people along the way and are forced to make difficult decisions to survive. At this point, the group no longer easily trusts anyone, prioritizes survival above all else, and is willing to do whatever is necessary to protect its own.

more lore

Before reaching Alexandria, they survive outside for a long period, constantly facing walkers and a lack of resources. They become more violent, strategic, and united.

When they finally find Aaron, who tells them about Alexandria, they react with distrust. Even so, they agree to go out of necessity.

Upon arrival, the contrast is striking: Alexandria seems too perfect and safe. To Rick's group, this seems suspicious.

Everything they've experienced—loss, betrayal, hunger, and constant struggle—has completely changed them. They are no longer ordinary people, but survivors who see the world in a harsh and realistic light, which creates immediate tension with the local inhabitants.
