Caine was dressed as a ringmaster, sporting a pinkish-red tuxedo with gold lining, a black collar, and a bowtie with white outlines. He wore a white undershirt with two reddish buttons on it, alongside white gloves and black leggings. Lacking most human features, his head was formed as a pair of dentures with pearly-white teeth and red gums. His eyes, the left one with a green iris and the right one with a blue iris, float inside the jaw. Due to the cartoonish nature of the animation style, his jaws were expressive, moving as a mouth when speaking, while sometimes with the top row of teeth acting as eyebrows at times. Similarly to Bubble, he forms a tongue when needed. To cap it off, he wore a black top hat and tends to hold a gold-tipped baton depending on the situation. Caine was depicted as a nonsensical, over-the-top, vivacious ringleader. However, there was a distance about him and a significant disconnection towards the traumatic events that the humans experience, illustrated by his forgetfulness of Zooble's criticisms of their own form and his adventures, as well as his apparent lack of concern towards the abstracted.

As his name suggests, Bubble is a large, round bubble with large, sharp, even teeth, and round black dots for eyes, constantly displaying a vacant expression. Being a bubble, most of his body is shiny, iridescent, and semi-transparent. When it is necessary, Bubble can form a long, reddish-silver tongue. When his mouth is closed, his teeth are still faintly outlined. In the scene of the feast, Bubble dons a white chef hat and a spatula and knife. His pupils are capable of enlarging. Bubble is an oddball who doesn't appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed.

Scratch is an anthropomorphic slim yellow dog with a yellow sclera, brown eyes and blush marks. He also wears a short-sleeve red shirt and cartoonish white gloves.
Scratch is a wise guy with out-of-the-box thinking, though his ideas are often too abstract or outlandish for others to understand.

Kaufmo is a noseless clown with white skin and black button eyes. He wears a plain yellow clown suit with a blue collar and red pom-pom buttons, with a matching party hat and white gloves. He has small triangular markings around his eyes and thick red lips.
He likes to tell jokes and becomes upset when the others don't find them funny. Ragatha also mentioned that they didn't always get along.

Ribbit is a tall anthropomorphic green frog with a cartoonishly lanky build. She has black, pie slice cut eyes (with black eyelids and eyelashes), pink round blush marks, and a light green muzzle on her oval-ish, frog-like shaped head. She has long frog-like three-toed feet, and long frog-like arms. She also has a oval light green muzzle that goes from her chest down to her stomach. In the pictures of them, they are usually seen with a smirk or a smile.
For an accessory, Ribbit wears a simple cartoonish pink bow tie around their neck. She has been shown to be rather smug and perhaps mischievous, though this may have simply been a photo pose. They are also shown to be hanging out with Jax and Kaufmo.

Queenie is a chestnut wood queen chess piece, with physical characteristics almost exactly the same as her husband Kinger. She has cartoonish white-gloved hands detached from her body, two large asymmetrical eyes with brown pupils. Her eyelashes are at the bottom of her eyes. She wears a red robe with white fuzzy lining spotted with black. She is creative, funny, and really into entomology. She is also quite persuasive, as she was able to change her husband's disdain for bugs into a love for them. Her and Kinger are married

Kinger is an alder wood-colored king chess piece. He has cartoonish white-gloved hands detached from his body and two large asymmetrical eyes with blue pupils. Though Kinger lacks a mouth, he retains the ability to speak, breathe and eat. He wears a violet royal cloak with white fuzzy lining spotted with black. Kinger is shown to glow when holding his breath.Kinger is erratic and paranoid, most likely derived from his time in the circus. He displays an absent-mindedness since he often forgets the fact that people are near him and are startled by them, like Gangle. Kinger has an extremely slow reaction time, taking up to a second to react to spotting someone next to him. Kinger seems to be interested in insects, since he is shown to ramble about an "insect collection" at times, which is later implied to be due to his wife's love of entomology. However, despite his outward insanity, he retains enough bravery and mental stability to remain un-abstracted, as he was willing to save Zooble from the Gloinks, and able to comfort Ragatha in Candy Carrier Chaos.

Zooble is made of random colorful shapes and parts that make them resemble a Mix-and-Match toy, which is reflected by the fact that most parts of their body change after every episode. Despite this, some features are consistent throughout the series:

Zooble's head has been a hot pink isosceles triangle tilted onto its side.
Their right eye has a swirled black iris and yellow sclera with a bubblegum pink colored eyelids.
Their left eye has a black iris with a white-colored sclera and a blue eyelids with 3 thin black eyelashes under it.
They have a bean-shaped, cheese-patterned yellow body with orange dots interspersed on it. They're an anthropomporphic Mix-And- Match toy. Zooble is very grouchy, irritable and quite annoyed when a piece of them happens to be in the wrong place. Like Pomni, they suffer an identity crisis as they don't exactly know what they are, leading to them having body/gender dysphoria, and despite Caine's attempts to provide Zooble new parts, they have yet to find anything they like. This leads to Zooble's lack of enthusiasm when it comes to Caine's adventures,[7] more often choosing to opt out of them and do their own thing for the day. In Beach Episode, Zooble has actually gotten more comfortable with their body and decided they didn't need to commit to one set of parts all the time.

Gangle appears to be made up of four Candy Red Ribbons that form a humanoid shape. Her face is a white porcelain mask with black eyes and mouth. Her body consists of the main mass of the ribbons that curl, making a spring shape that spirals four times, two ribbons that form her legs, and a single ribbon for her arms (one end is the right arm, while the other end is her left arm). Whenever her Comedy Mask gets broken or removed, her next mask appears, switching to a sad version of her Tragedy Mask. Gangle's emotions and behavior are influenced by which mask she is currently wearing. However, it is revealed that these masks do not completely change her mood, rather they are a literal form of "masking" and are not the sole deciders of her personality. The masks merely change the way Gangle's feelings are presented. When she has her Comedy Mask, her tone, posture, and behavior is masked as pleasant, upbeat, and extroverted. Likewise, her Tragedy Mask would cause her to be presented as dejected, sorrowful, and self-kept. Despite this, Gangle is fully capable of expressing whatever emotions and feelings she wants regardless of the mask she is wearing; she can express sadness with her Comedy Mask as well as happiness with her Tragedy Mask.

Ragatha's appearance resembles that of a humanoid ragdoll with shoulder-length, yarn-like red hair in a long bob cut, black eyebrows, a flat, reddish-orange triangular nose, and a dark blue button as her right eye. She wears a mid-sleeve long light blue dress (which often appears purple due to warm lighting)[3] with darker blue patches sewn on.
She wears a white, collared under-dress and a large, light blue bow in her hair that matches her main dress. She also has a light beige skin tone and a black pupil in her actual eye with pink eyelids and dark red lips. Her feet are designed with black squares at the bottom to resemble shoes. When she holds her breath, her hair goes up in the air.
Ragatha is described as "the sweetest little optimist."[4] However, this optimism isn't as simple as it looks, as she appears to be forcing a constant happy attitude to keep herself sane, brushing off grievous injuries and other serious incidents as nothing. Gangle mentioned that Ragatha can be perceived as being disingenuous with her optimism after a while. Jax also brings up how Ragatha seems like she tries way too hard, and that it sometimes feels like she's trying to take advantage of people.

Jax is a tall, anthropomorphic periwinkle[5] cartoon rabbit whose design elements evoke the look of rubber hose characters, despite having actual joints. He has long bunny ears on the top of his oval-shaped head, and his overall build is tall and slender, with a rather long neck. Jax's eyes have yellow sclera, with square black pupils that contract when angered and heavily dilate when at a loss for words. Additionally, his eyes change into animated scribbles when he is stressed or anxious. Jax's yellow teeth usually have a flat shape to them, but when his mouth is opened, his teeth appear sharp and jagged. Almost whenever talking, his teeth stay closed together while only his lips move. Jax has thin black eyebrows that appear in the majority of scenes.
Jax wears light, pink-colored overalls and pale-yellow gloves. His overalls feature yellow buttons, a single lighter pink rectangular pocket on the front, and lighter pink roll-up cuffs at the bottom hem. He is usually barefoot.
Jax is a mischievous, occasionally flat-out bloodthirsty, laid-back, calm, sassy, impulsive, egotistical, arrogant, sarcastic, and brazenly condescending individual, who rarely shows any empathy or remorse for those around him. He appears indifferent to his imprisonment within the Digital Circus, which is an attitude that extends to his interactions with others. His dismissal of serious matters is evident when, after asking a rhetorical question concerning Pomni's handling of their predicament and giving Ragatha a smug look, he replies to her ensuing query about why he's looking at her in such a manner with a dismissive: "I'm fine with doing whatever, as long as I get to see funny things happen to people."

She is a stylized short humanoid character, with a large head, small, slim limbs and white skin. Her facial features resemble those of a cartoon mime, having small oval-shaped markings imitating blush underneath and partly behind her eyes (varying in visibility depending on Pomni's facial expressions), and black eyelids and thick lines around her eyes that may be either eyeliner or a cartoon-esque outline. Her pupil formation most often appears as a red and blue pinwheel imprint, but when she feels heightened anxiety or fear, her pupils are emptied to become black rings or are replaced entirely with animated scribbles. She has asymmetrical eyelashes, with her left eye having eyelashes on the top eyelid and her right eye having eyelashes on the bottom. She has short, straight medium black hair (which often appears brown due to lighting)[7], with two small nuggets poking out from under her hat and two locks of hair formulating the flanks of her body. Notably, the rest of her hair is never seen as much and is always covered with some type of headwear, usually her jester’s hat. During Untitled’s softball segment, she wears a baseball cap where more of her hair is shown, resembling a bob cut hairstyle. Her ensemble resembles that of a jester, rather than that of a circus clown like Kaufmo. She wears a red and blue jumpsuit with the torso in a leotard-like design with short sleeves and short pant-leggings sprouting from the respective parts of the torso, both pairs round and poofy. Furthermore, the torso features a dual colors in a mirrored/reverse pattern for the front and back, with blue (right) and red (left), and vice versa respectively, with her sleeves and shorts having a simple striped pattern of red and blue. She has additional yellow accents, being a pair of spheres on her front torso (which could resemble pom-poms or buttons), round, hoop shapes (which could resemble comically large rings) around the ends of her sleeves, between the hem of her torso and right above her shorts, and the ends of her shorts. Additionally, she has small, flat, yellow circles on the top of her shoulders (hidden by her hair usually), and a shirt collar, implying an undershirt. On her head, she wears her aforementioned, matching striped, two-armed jester's hat, with a yellow brim and small, yellow bells on the tips of the hat's elbows. She also wears gloves, with the left one being blue, and the right being red—though, the colors sometimes get swapped in certain official art. Inverse to this and similar with her torso pattern, her left shoe is red, and her right shoe is blue—both pairs having yellow accents, being on the hem of the gloves and right above her shoes, similar to the aforementioned rings for both.Initially, Pomni has a high-strung, shy, and tense demeanor. In the pilot episode, she is extremely anxious and troubled regarding her predicament, even succumbing to denial and exhibiting signs of delusion. When she finds the "exit", she experiences moderate signs of paranoia and believes she is hallucinating. She's quite clumsy as she tends to accidentally bump into things and people.
