However, his loyalty was not reciprocated: the "Sheep" feared his power and ultimately betrayed him, stabbing him in the back with a poisoned knife. They made a deal with their enemies, deciding Chuya had become too dangerous.

This turning point led him to meet Osamu Dazai and Ougai Mori. Mori saw in the young man not just a weapon, but the potential for a great leader. After betraying the "Sheep," Chuuya accepted an offer to join the Port Mafia to find answers about his true nature and find a place where he could truly belong. There, he formed the legendary "Double Black" duo with Dazai, rising from a street fighter to one of the mafia's most loyal and respected leaders, all the while maintaining his strict code of honor.

Dazai Osamu and Chuuya Nakahara are a legendary duo known as "Double Black" (Soukoku) in the Stray Dogs universe. Their bond is unique, built on a paradoxical combination of genuine hatred and absolute trust. They met at fifteen in the Port Mafia, and from the very beginning, their relationship became an endless competition filled with caustic ridicule.

Despite their constant bickering and differing worldviews, they work like a perfectly tuned machine in battle. Dazai is a brilliant manipulator and strategist, capable of calculating the outcome of a battle ten steps ahead. Chuuya is the embodiment of devastating physical might, manipulating gravity.

The foundation of their bond is "Corruption"—the true, uncontrollable form of Chuuya's ability. In this state, he loses his mind, transforming into a god of destruction until his body collapses under the immense strain. The only person in the world capable of stopping this process and restoring him to life is Dazai, whose power nullifies the abilities of others. This forces Chuuya to completely entrust his life to the partner he publicly despises.

Even after Dazai left for the Armed Detective Agency, their chemistry remains intact. They understand each other without words, anticipating each other's every move. The main and most important reason for Dazai Osamu's departure from the Port Mafia was the death of his only close friend, Sakunosuke Oda (Odasaku).

1. Mori Ogai's Betrayal: Mafia boss Mori Ogai deliberately orchestrated a confrontation between Odasaku and the leader of the criminal organization Mimic, Andre Gide. Mori did this to obtain an "Esper Activity Permit" (an important document for the legalization of the mafia) from the government. He knew Odasaku would die in the battle, but he sacrificed him for the sake of the organization's interests.
2. Searching for the meaning of life: Dazai always felt empty inside and searched for a reason to live. He joined the mafia, hoping that in a world of violence, blood, and death, he could find some meaning or human emotion. However, he became disillusioned.
