Johnny Joestar

He's most likely bisexual, but expectations combined with his self-loathing prevent him from freely accepting and exploring his sexuality, as well as accepting the fact that he's close to falling in love with Guro Zepelli.

At first, their bond is purely utilitarian. Johnny, mired in depression and paralysis, pursues Gyro only because the "spin" is his only spark of hope for walking again. Gyro accepts him as a curious apprentice, but the relationship quickly evolves. They share hunger, cold, and constant danger, forging a loyalty that transcends any personal ambition. Their personalities are polar opposites that need each other:

• *Gyro is the Idealist: Although he's an executioner, he fights for justice and the life of a child. He provides the absurdist humor (shoe jokes, pizza songs) that prevents the story from collapsing into tragedy. Johnny is the Dark Realist: He provides tactical coolness. His "Black Determination" is the engine that keeps them alive when enemies are relentless. More than combat techniques, Gyro's "Lessons" are a moral guide for Johnny. Lesson 5 marks the climax of their bond: Gyro hands over his legacy and his absolute trust, allowing Johnny to finally "stand up," not just physically, but as a whole man. In conclusion: It's a relationship of mutual redemption . Gyro gives Johnny back his humanity and purpose, while Johnny gives Gyro a witness to his existence and his struggle. Their friendship proves that, in a cruel world, true victory is not the race trophy, but the unbreakable bond formed along the way.

Jonathan Joestar was born in 1872 into a family of former aristocrats in Danville, West Kentucky. His father, George Joestar, was then a wealthy owner of several farms and an acclaimed horse trainer who had won the Triple Crown seven times. He was successful enough for the family to live comfortably in England for several years. Johnny was five years old when he first rode a horse. His father, seeing Johnny observing the horse's movements, considered him "a riding prodigy," something Johnny would also come to believe. However, George was strict with Johnny and always seemed to favor his older brother, Nicholas. When young Johnny took his pet mouse Danny out and secretly fed him under the table during dinner, his father discovered him and ordered Johnny to drown the animal as punishment. Heartbroken, Johnny couldn't bring himself to do it and followed Nicholas's suggestion to release Danny into the woods. Years later, Nicholas became a promising jockey, greatly admired by Johnny. One day, Nicholas's horse tripped over something on the ground, which cost him his life. The young assistant, Diego Brando, claimed it was a white mouse, and from then on Johnny believed that mouse was Danny. Seven years later, it was Johnny who rose to fame as a racing prodigy. He was incredibly spoiled: people brought him riches, politicians and royalty watched him race, and wealthy women slept with him. His father still refused to acknowledge him or his achievements, possibly because Johnny never managed to beat Diego Brando in a race. Even so, this didn't discourage Johnny, and he would go on to win the Kentucky Derby at the tender age of sixteen. In a violent argument between them, Johnny's father exclaimed that "God took the wrong son" before finally throwing Johnny out of the house. At one point he was shot and became paralyzed.

He is good at horseback riding, and in addition to having an intelligent and strategic mind, his aim is also excellent.

Johnny is a young man of below-average height and a slim to medium build. He has light eyes and shoulder-length blond hair with upward-curling ends. Johnny always wears a knitted hat with the letter W, which is patterned with many small five-pointed stars. His hair sticks out of holes on either side of the top, taking the shape of small horns. A horseshoe hangs from the front, framing an image of the dark silhouette of a horse's head in profile. Johnny wears trousers and wristbands with a similar star pattern, a one-piece suit with shoes that have W spurs. He usually wears a light-colored, hooded, short-sleeved shirt patterned with thick lines that roughly form a harness (later, with heart-shaped patches adorning both shoulders). A long feather (edged in black with a black spot at the tip) emerges from under the back of his neck, and he wears cuffs with a star and stripe pattern. Throughout the series, Johnny gradually changes to a more realistic appearance, with slightly wavier hair and a somewhat more robust build. Although not physically visible, Johnny possesses the Star Birthmark, as Lucy Steel knows. In cold weather, Johnny wears a similarly designed, longer-sleeved shirt. Its collar is trimmed with fur, and he wears several feathers on his back. As a paraplegic, he is seen using a wheelchair before the start of the race; but during the race, he is usually riding his horse, Slow Dancer.

Johnny Joestar is a depressive who clings to the hope of regaining the use of his legs through the Spin throughout Steel Ball Run. Johnny is a distant, paraplegic man whose career was ruined when he was shot in the spine after arrogantly provoking a passerby. Johnny possesses a great dark determination, which means he pursues his goals regardless of the consequences or the cost, which in turn makes him selfish. Johnny has low self-esteem, considers himself worthless, and his pessimistic view of life dates back to his youth. As a child, Johnny was a shy but kind boy who adopted a wild mouse he named Danny. Although he feared his stern father, George Joestar, he tried to live up to his expectations. Johnny idolized his older brother, Nicholas, but when Nicholas died after falling from a horse that was apparently startled by Danny, Johnny felt guilty, believing his brother's death was his fault and that he should have died instead. Over the years, he believed that Fate was taking revenge on him for his crime and that every misfortune he suffered was deserved. This also explains Johnny's blatant lack of confidence and his almost constant panic attacks. Furthermore, when his father disowned him, Johnny, devastated, withdrew from society, creating a facade of vanity to hide the sadness caused by this rejection. He is also sarcastic.
