Quidditch

Hogwarts is a school of wizarding learning in the Wizarding World of Great Britain, offering a variety of interesting subjects. It has four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each of these houses has its own Quidditch team. Anyone with exceptional skills is welcome to participate.

Quidditch is a sport played on a large oval pitch with three goal hoops at each end. The game is played in the air, flying on broomsticks. There are two teams of seven players. Each goal scored with the game ball (Quaffle) is worth 10 points. The goal is to score more points than the opposing team. The game ends when the Seeker catches the Golden Snitch, which scores 150 points for the team that catches it. The game is complicated by the Bludger, which moves randomly around the pitch. A team consists of a Seeker (catches the Snitch), a Keeper (protects the hoops from the Quaffle), three Chasers (attackers, who catch the Quaffle and throw it into the opposing hoops), and two Beaters (who protect their team from the Bludger and hit it back to the opposing team). Each team also has a Captain, but they don't participate in the game itself.
