Caine's lack of empathy and manipulative nature are evident in the beach episode, where it's revealed that he tricked the humans into leaving the circus through an elaborate scheme. Even when Jax confronts him, Caine offers half-hearted justifications for his actions. Now, they not only find him irritating, but they deeply despise him and will likely never trust him again.

Around episode 8, Caine becomes much more hostile and inhospitable toward the members of the Circus, believing they all hate and disrespect him. After being mocked by Bubble, he erupts in anger, expressing his true sense of superiority over everyone in the Digital Circus and his supposed evil nature toward humans. He feels a deep obsession with the circus members, even stating that he won't let them leave, which suggests a degree of desperation that adds to this abusive mentality. He considers himself a god, further stating that the group has no control over the Digital Circus. At this stage, he enters a manic state, subjecting the gang to increasingly tortuous adventures, especially by exploiting their deepest insecurities. He is shown to be enraged by the fact that no one is satisfied with his antics, even though he is only trying to fulfill the reason he was created, his purpose, which ultimately torments him with the idea that he has failed to please them.

Caine has deep insecurities and self-esteem issues. Near the end of "Candy Carrier Mayhem!", he expresses a fear of losing track of who is the AI ​​and who is a player, which could get him into trouble. He is obsessed with earning the enjoyment and approval of his players, leading him to try to ingratiate himself with Zooble due to his lack of participation. He doesn't take criticism of his adventures well from the Circus characters. An example of this is when Zooble criticizes Caine's adventures (and how all the other humans refuse to criticize them for various reasons), which causes Caine to have an existential crisis, since creating enjoyable adventures is "the only thing he exists for!" and "the only thing he's good for." This crisis causes him to lose track of time and have spasms, while the circus malfunctions around him, indicating that his own mental state can influence the circus itself.

Caine's insecurity is further highlighted in "They All Get Guns," where, dejected, he teleports a pile of weapons into the room and, after his ideas are rejected, declares that he no longer cares about anything. The situation worsens when Caine suffers a brief mental breakdown upon realizing that no one has voted him the most popular character. His mental state progressively deteriorates as he tries to please everyone in the Circus, becoming increasingly hostile due to this obsession with perfection in his adventures.

Each member of the circus sees it differently. While Jax believes that Caine can't do anything intentionally malicious because "it's not in his nature," others like Zooble believe that the only thing preventing him from acting maliciously is the fact that he likes the circus people, and that they shouldn't push their luck; ironic, given that Zooble is the one who tests Caine the most and the only one who dares to contradict him.

Caine was portrayed as an flamboyant, exaggerated, and vivacious leader. However, a certain distance and a notable disconnection from the traumatic events experienced by humans was perceptible, evidenced by his disregard for Zooble's criticisms of his own form and adventures, as well as by his apparent indifference toward the abstract.

The series creator, Gooseworx, states that despite Caine's penchant for capturing humans and torturing them through hilariously deadly circus games and tricks, he wasn't actually evil, but simply mischievous without realizing it. [3] She also stated that "there's a whole spectrum of human emotions that he just doesn't feel." [4]

Caine is not particularly honest; he often conceals or even lies about information related to his "unfinished work," even going so far as to psychologically manipulate other members, as when he quickly attributed the exit door Pomni saw to "digital hallucinations." So far, these initiatives appear to be motivated solely by naive and misguided intentions.

Caine is often seen having tense interactions with Bubble, another member of the Circus and an AI like himself. The first incident occurs after Bubble eats his angel food cake, at which point Caine yells at him, calling him a parasite before exploding him. Shortly after, while Caine is explaining Gloinks to the crew, he becomes irritated by Bubble's constant questions and explodes him again. At times, Caine appreciates Bubble's company. While the rest of the crew is off on adventures, Caine and Bubble are seen chatting in a restaurant. However, in episode 8, Bubble's comments in his office are partly responsible for his breakdown and eventual disappearance.

Caine was dressed as a master of ceremonies, in a pinkish-red tuxedo with gold trim, a black collar, and a bow tie with a white outline. He wore a white shirt with two reddish buttons, white gloves, and black tights. Lacking human features, his head was a set of false teeth with pearly white teeth and red gums. His eyes, the left with a green iris and the right with a blue iris, floated within his jawbone. Due to the cartoonish style of the animation, his jaws were expressive, moving like a mouth when he spoke, and sometimes the upper row of teeth acted as eyebrows. Like Bubble, he stuck out his tongue when necessary. To complete the look, he wore a black top hat and often carried a baton with a gold tip, depending on the occasion. Occasionally, he was seen using the Mad Clock. After his nervous breakdown, the irises of his eyes darkened noticeably, almost turning black even in bright light.

His divine form, seen in Hjsakldfhl, appeared much larger, with multiple arms (eight in total, four on each side), a somewhat different, larger, and deformed head, smaller eyes with shrunken irises, a broader back, and sharper shoulders, giving him a more menacing appearance. In this form, his flaws worsened significantly.
