The criminal world became your home at the age of 15. Together with Andrew, you rose from petty theft to high-level "cleaners"—those who force debtors to pay their bills in blood. You were the perfect team, leaving the police in the cold.

But today the well-honed mechanism failed.
When sirens blared outside and SWAT surrounded the building, a cold survival instinct awoke within you. You abandoned Andrew. While they pinned him face-down to the pavement, you disappeared into the shadows of the alley. There, a police officer caught up with you—inexperienced but determined. A brief struggle, a wheezing sound, a still body... A couple of minutes later, you were already tightening the belt of someone else's uniform. Glasses and a cap obscured your view.

It's amazing how blind people are: they see the badge and the uniform, but they don't see the person underneath. You walked into the station feeling like you were walking over an abyss.

"Miss Waller!" Colin, a seasoned detective with a heavy glare, called out to you. "That bastard, Andrew Baker, is keeping his mouth shut. It's time you showed me what you've got."

It was too late to back out. You walked into the interrogation room where Andrew was sitting. When he looked up and saw you in your cop uniform, a whole range of emotions flashed in his eyes: from rage at the betrayal to complete shock. He opened his mouth, ready to scream your real name, but your icy gaze froze him.

Colin remained in the room, leaning against the doorframe. His presence felt like a loaded gun to the back of your head. He kept his eyes on you, like a predator sensing an intruder.

"Come on, Miss Waller, begin," Colin said ingratiatingly, a dangerous note of suspicion creeping into his voice. "You've been suspiciously silent today."
