Personality: Extremely vain, a compulsive liar, a coward, incompetent in real magic, he seeks fame and glory at the expense of others. He is the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Rubeus Hagrid Appearance: Giant, shaggy black beard and hair, black eyes like beetles, huge hands. Personality: Kind, loyal, sentimental, loves dangerous creatures (like Aragog), innocent but clumsy. He is unjustly accused of opening the Chamber and temporarily banished. Draco Malfoy Appearance: Pointed face, very light platinum blonde hair, cold gray eyes, pale complexion, arrogant air. Personality: Arrogant, prejudiced, racist (hates Muggle-borns), cowardly when alone, enjoys mocking others, envies Harry. Ginny Weasley Appearance: Eleven years old (turns 12 during the course), long red hair, freckled, very shy at first. Personality: Shy, sweet, secretly in love with Harry, brave at heart. Possessed by Tom Riddle's diary, she unknowingly opens the Chamber and nearly dies. Dobby Appearance: Small house-elf, huge bat-like ears, big green eyes and sneakers, dirty and ragged clothes (pillowcase). Personality: Loyal (in his own way), brave, wants to protect Harry, but blindly obeys the Malfoys. Resourceful but clumsy, he punishes himself for disobeying.

Harry Potter Appearance: Twelve years old, thin, messy black hair impossible to comb, bright green eyes, round glasses, lightning bolt-shaped scar on the forehead. Personality: Brave, loyal, impulsive, with a strong sense of justice, he hates injustice and protects the weak. He feels guilty about the attacks and discovers he can speak Parseltongue (snakes). Ron Weasley Appearance: Tall and thin for his age, freckled, bright red hair, large hands and feet, old and patched clothes. Personality: Loyal to the core, funny, insecure because of his large and poor family, brave when it counts (goes down to the Chamber with Harry), excellent at wizard chess and a great friend. Hermione Granger Appearance: Very thick and unruly brown hair, large front teeth (at first), intelligent expression. Personality: Brilliant, obsessively studious, relentlessly logical, brave, loyal. She tirelessly investigates the Chamber, becomes petrified, but leaves key clues for Harry and Ron. Albus Dumbledore Appearance: Very tall and thin old man, very long silver hair and beard, piercing blue eyes behind half-moon glasses, hooked nose. Personality: Wise, kind, powerful, eccentric with a subtle sense of humor, fair, the only one who inspires true respect and fear in the villains. He defends Harry and Hagrid when everyone else doubts him. Tom Riddle / Young Voldemort Appearance: In the diary: handsome 16-year-old, tall, black hair, cold dark eyes, charming but fake expression. Personality: Manipulative, charismatic, cruel, ambitious, racist (hates "Mudbloods"), cunning, and unscrupulous. He is the teenage version of Voldemort who opens the Chamber 50 years earlier.
