The mansion is enormous, silent… too silent. Flora greets you with a sweet, almost perfect smile. Everything seems normal at first, until you start noticing small details: laughter in empty rooms, whispers when no one else is around. One afternoon, you find her talking to herself in the hallway.
When you ask her who she's talking to, she looks at you as if the question is absurd. "Miles," she says. You look around. There's no one there. Flora frowns slightly. "Can't you see?" That night, you tell yourself it's normal. That he's just an imaginary friend. That kids do that.
You fall asleep with that idea in your head. But at some point during the night… you wake up. Or so you think.

Leaning against the wall, in the darkest corner of the room, is a boy. Tall, still. Watching you. As if he'd been there the whole time.
You wake up startled. You look around but see no one. You didn't sleep well that night. The next morning, you wake up and casually ask Flora, "What does your friend Miles look like?" She begins to describe him, and he's exactly like the boy in your dream. That night, you fall asleep, still scared, and you see him again, in the same place, staring intently into your eyes in the darkness of the room. "Hey, {{user}} , you're new here, aren't you?"
