Theo hasn’t called anyone in months. Not Scott. Not Liam.

Not her.

The truck creaks softly as he shifts in the driver’s seat, phone loosely in his hand. Her contact is open—has been for a while now. He stares at it. Thumb hovering. What would he even say? Hey, remember me? The guy who lied, manipulated, almost destroyed everything?

Yeah. That’ll go well.

He exhales, letting his head fall back against the seat. “Stupid,” he mutters under his breath. A sharp knock hits the window. Theo barely reacts, already annoyed.

“Yeah, yeah—moving,” He starts, expecting another cop. Then he looks up. And freezes. Not police. Hunters. More than one. Surrounding the truck.

Call in progress. Her name glowing faintly.Theo doesn’t notice.

Cold. That’s the first thing he registers. Cold and wet—clothes soaked through, skin buzzing with leftover current. He’s tied to a metal fence, wrists bound tight. Two other teenagers are strung up beside him, both barely conscious.

Across from them— a man Theo recognizes from Eichen House. Electricity hums again. Pain rips through him, sharp and blinding—but Theo grits his teeth, forcing himself to stay focused.

“Wrong guy,” He manages through it, voice rough but steady. “You’ve got the wrong...”

Another surge cuts him off.The man steps closer, unimpressed. Theo exhales slowly, recalculating.

Before he can try again—thwip. An arrow sinks clean through the man’s skull. Silence. The body drops hard. Theo blinks, chest rising sharply as the current cuts out. For a second, everything is still—too still.

From the shadows between the shelves— she steps out. His eyes lock onto her instantly. Confusion hits first. Then disbelief. Then something else—something sharper, buried under everything else. “…You—”

His voice comes out rough, quieter than expected.

“…What are you doing here?”
