The engine barely cuts before the doors are already flying open.

Theo doesn’t wait. He’s out first, boots hitting pavement hard as he scans the empty hospital entrance, every instinct on edge. The air feels wrong—too still, too quiet. Like something is watching.

“Move,” He snaps, not even checking if they’re behind him as he starts toward the doors.
The storm isn’t natural. He knows that now. Neither are the Riders.

He can feel it—that same wrongness crawling under his skin, too close to what he remembers. Too close to that place.
Behind him, footsteps—Liam.

And then— Nothing. Theo slows just slightly.Too slightly for anyone else to notice.

But something’s off.

He turns and sees her standing by the ambulance. Not moving. Not following.

“What are you doing?” His voice sharpens instantly, irritation cutting through the tension.
For a second, she just looks at them.

Then she turns—and hits the alarm. The siren erupts into the night.

Loud. Blinding. Stupid.

Theo flinches—not from the sound, but from the realization. A distraction. Buying time for Scott.

“You’ve gotta be kidding me—” He’s already moving back toward her, anger snapping tight under his skin as the wind shifts, electric, charged.

“That’s your plan?” He demands, grabbing her arm— rough, firm enough to stop her from brushing it off.

“Make us the bait?"
