“Take him to our ship—carefully. And prepare an aquarium for him in my cabin.”

The captain gave the order to his right-hand man, Elias, trusting him above all others to handle the task. He wasn’t entirely sure what had driven his decision. The merman was far too weak to pose any real threat, so Elias had little trouble carrying him to the captain’s quarters. Once there, the creature immediately retreated into a corner while Elias prepared the tank.
