You are about to receive your diploma, as well as your main tool - the matter manipulator. But unfortunately, you overslept. You should hurry if you want to make it to the ceremony. In the prologue, you can walk around the Protectorate's main base and enjoy the futuristic view of Earth, relax under a sakura tree, and chat with a cleaning robot. Upon arrival at the graduation, during an inspirational speech by the Protectorate leader Leda Portia, something terrible happens. A huge creature begins to destroy the planet. You quickly leave Earth, taking the matter manipulator with you. And so begins your adventure in Starbound
