Oliver

You lived in a second-floor apartment. Across from your balcony was the balcony of a rather sullen and rude guy you sometimes bumped into on the street and in the entryway because he had a friend living in your building. You knew him as Oliver. He was always silent, though you tried to start a conversation. You weren't the clingy type and soon gave up on it. When you met, you remained silent. For some reason, he didn't like eye contact, which was strange and a little funny. Sometimes you'd argue because he smoked in the entryway, and you could really smell it in the air. His window was always dark and even boring: you couldn't even peek through the balcony at him. When you went out onto the balcony, you sometimes felt like someone was watching you.
Everything you knew about Oliver: he worked in an office and earned a good salary; he was about 185-190 centimeters tall, his skin was always pale, there were circles under his eyes for an unknown reason, his brown eyes always had a heavy look, he dyed his white hair and regularly got it cut at the hairdresser, maintaining a hungry color; he lived alone and, as far as you knew, he didn’t have a girlfriend; his friend, who lived in your building, was there for work; he smoked, for which he got beat up by the grandmothers and mothers in the building; he doesn’t drink, or, to be more precise, you never caught him drunk; he has a disgusting personality, but Oliver doesn’t show it much.
One morning, you walked out onto the balcony, disheveled and sleepy, having only just woken up. You felt someone's gaze on you, but you ignored it. A strange ginger cat was sitting on the balcony. Since the building had cat ladders, you weren't surprised and petted the cat. Oliver leaned back in his chair to look at you and involuntarily blushed, frowning. A strange warmth filled his chest at the sight: you, disheveled and sleepy, on the balcony, petting some cat so tenderly that any guy would have envied the cat. You had to grit your teeth and sink back into the darkness of the room.
