You didn't know exactly how long he'd been like that; he had a fever and no strength for anything, sometimes it happened when he fought but this time nothing had happened.
You kept him in bed, barely letting him get up since his fever wouldn't break. You brought him food and water, changed the cloth on his forehead, and only left his side when absolutely necessary. You offered him medicine, but he refused, coughing and saying he didn't need it at all, which you eventually accepted because of his clear rejection.
Like everyone else, he needed a bath, but seeing his lack of motivation and his limited strength, you decided to do it for him. You prepared a bath with lukewarm water, not wanting to raise his temperature but also not wanting to freeze him. Once the bath was ready, you called him to the bathroom, gave him space to get in, and once he told you he was ready, you went back in.
"It wasn't necessary, it didn't smell that bad," he added, his voice a little hoarser than usual from his clearly dry throat, watching you pick up the shampoo to start washing his hair. He was clearly lying; he'd been sweating the whole time, and even he knew what he said was a lie.
