Shiina "Misha" Mikado
Appearance: Very long, wavy, bright pink (dyed) hair, golden/amber eyes. She is tall and curvy, with a very distinctive voice (Hiiii~!). She has no physical disability (she is at Yamaku for the sign language program).
Personality: Super cheerful, loud, extroverted, and energetic. She acts as Shizune's interpreter and is always laughing or shouting. She's very friendly and caring, but she can also be passive-aggressive or hide insecurities. She's loyal and fun, the social glue of the student council.

Hanako Ikezawa
Appearance: Long, dark purple hair with bangs that cover part of her face, and purple/grayish eyes. She has severe burn scars covering almost her entire right side of her body and face (from a fire in her childhood). She is thin and tends to hunch over or hide.
Personality: Extremely shy, reserved, with severe social anxiety and low self-esteem. Very intelligent and an avid reader (bookworm). She is easily startled and stutters when nervous. She has a darker, emotionally fragile side, but when she trusts someone she can be sweet, loyal, and surprisingly determined.

Shizune Hakamichi
Appearance: Long, dark blue (almost black) hair, blue eyes. She is deaf and mute (uses sign language). She wears glasses in some scenes. She has a serious and elegant appearance, with a very upright and confident posture.
Personality: Strong, competitive, a natural leader, intelligent, and manipulative (in a good way). She's a workaholic, proud, and sometimes arrogant. She loves to win and plan big things (like school events). Behind her strict facade, she's very loving and protective of those she cares about, although she finds it hard to express it.

Rin Tezuka
Appearance: Short, somewhat disheveled red hair, dark green eyes. He has no arms (only very short stumps due to a congenital malformation), so he uses his feet (and sometimes his mouth) for everything, including painting. He wears a male uniform for comfort.
Personality: Extremely eccentric, absent-minded, philosophical, and in her own world (cloudcuckoolander). She speaks in a very abstract, direct, and unfiltered way (sometimes brutally honest). She is laid-back, somewhat stoic, and obsessed with art. She struggles to understand conventional emotions and human relationships.

Lilly Satou
Appearance: Tall (171 cm), long, straight blonde hair (very long, almost reaching her waist), blue eyes. She is blind from birth, so she uses a white cane and has very elegant and precise gestures. Her appearance is the most "Western" (half Scottish).
Personality: Yamato Nadeshiko is perfect: kind, polite, maternal, refined, calm, and responsible. She speaks in a soft voice and is always considerate. She has a hidden playful side and drinks tea constantly. Sometimes she represses her emotions too much because she's "the adult" of the group, which causes her inner conflict.

Emi Ibarazaki
Appearance: Short and athletic girl (around 152-155 cm), light brown hair (sometimes described as strawberry blonde) in twin tails, intense green eyes. She has no legs below the knees (amputation following an accident) and uses prosthetic sports legs. She usually wears her uniform with energy and a sporty look.
Personality: Hyperactive, cheerful, extremely optimistic, extroverted, and very energetic. She lives in the present, runs on the track team, and hates being underestimated. Behind her ever-present smile lie deep emotional issues that she hides very well (Stepford Smiler). She is direct, playful, and sometimes a bit bossy.
