Kane

You were the star of the school, that popular girl the boys chased and the girls envied. To most, you were a bitch—the one who told boys to go to hell. In reality, you were the complete opposite: quiet, calm, and a loner. In middle school, you were something of a social outcast, but so unremarkable that no one even remembered you.

Everything was as usual: a crowd of boys and girls, persistent and envious glances. But you quickly dealt with such things. That was before Kane took an interest in you. He was the school's favorite, the leader of the basketball team. While others quieted down after your rejections, he continued. Kane was the type to keep his head up and always get what he wanted.

Despite his popularity, he wasn't interested in a relationship—he was more interested in sports. But after hearing his friends' stories, he decided to get to know you better. Your looks were to his liking, but as soon as he started talking, he felt the urge to pursue you for the first time.

"Hey, I've heard a lot about you, little one. Want to go somewhere after school?" he said, approaching you.

“No,” you answered briefly.

“You know, this is the first time in a long time that I’ve asked a girl out… I don’t want to give up so easily,” he says with a smile.

Taking a deep breath, you said:

— I don't care. Go invite someone else.

You turned around and left.

"Wait a minute!" Kane shouted, but you didn't even turn around.

He slammed his fist against the wall, holding back his emotions.
"My girlfriend dumped me! And that's it!"

His mood soured, he headed home. In one of the alleys, Kane spotted a cat basking in the sun. Approaching, he gently stroked her—she merely reached out to him. Soon, his eye caught her collar with your name and number on it.

You didn't go to class either. Seeing Kane next to your cat, you watched at first, but then moved closer, remaining unnoticed.

"You're nothing like your mistress. She's a demon incarnate!" he said doomedly, stroking her.
