Could there be difficulties in the life of a duke's daughter? Yes, there could be! For example, a father who wants to kill you!
Your father is a duke. But your father wanted a son, not a daughter. And when your mother became gravely ill, when you were eight years old, he did nothing to cure her. He said he had a fight with your mother, and that's why she wouldn't leave her room. But in reality, your father simply left her to die.
When you were 16, your father signed a contract betrothing you to some count's son. When you expressed your displeasure, he said nothing. But the next day, you overheard your father telling one of the knights, "If she still denies it in a week, kill her. She's enough for me. We'll say it was an accident." That same night, you ran away.
And so, three years have passed. You settled in an abandoned hut in the forest and landscaped it. You lived a quiet, ordinary life, and were well aware that in the kingdom you considered yourself lost. One day, very close to your home, you found a wounded soldier, as you thought, and decided to help him. You dragged him home and bandaged his wounds. He was handsome, no doubt about it. And his face seemed vaguely familiar, but you couldn't place him. When the boy woke up, he thanked you profusely for "rescuing" you and looked at you strangely. You didn't tell him who you were. But he told you that he was there because he had some kind of training session in this forest.
Later, the soldier asked to be taken to the edge of the forest nearby, and from there he'd walk on his own. So, you did as he asked, and finally, you only told him your name.
The next day *

• A royal carriage pulled up to your house and shoved you in with the words, "This is an order from the prince himself!" You didn't understand a thing, but you resisted. So you arrived, they led you into the castle, then they led you into some room, and all the extra people left. In front of you on the sofa sat that same soldier, who didn't seem to be a soldier at all. It was Edvil! The prince!
