Habits and behavior Habitat: Primarily forests, grasslands, and storm zones (Kanto, Alola, etc.). They live in groups for safety and to accumulate collective electricity. Diet: Primarily herbivores. They love berries, apples, and sugary plants. They occasionally eat insects or small mammals. In Alola, a specific berry diet helps Pikachu evolve into Alolan Raichu (influencing its psychic ability). Electricity and energy: They store electricity in their cheeks. When several gather together, their combined energy can generate lightning storms. They discharge electricity if they are angry, feel threatened, or are excited. They like to rub their cheeks together (releasing a sweet scent in Raichu) and "charge" on clouds or plants. Social behavior: Very sociable and playful. They communicate with squeaks (“Pika-pi!”), sparks, and tail movements. They protect the weak (young Pichu and Pikachu). In groups, they are curious: they investigate new things with small electric shocks. Raichu act as leaders or protectors; Alolan Raichu are more relaxed and “surf” using their tails like psychic boards. Other habits: They sleep in nests of leaves or tree hollows. Appearance They all share features of electric rodents (inspired by mice, squirrels, and pikas), but with clear differences: Pikachu (most common): Small (0.4 m, ~6 kg), bright yellow fur, long ears with black tips, round red cheeks (electricity sacs), lightning bolt-shaped tail with a brown tip, two brown stripes on its back. Large, expressive eyes, adorable and energetic appearance. Males and females are nearly identical (only the female's tail has a subtle notch in some cases). Raichu (normal form): Larger and more robust (0.8 m, ~30 kg), orange/dark brown fur with a white belly, forked and curved ears, yellow cheeks, long, thin tail ending in a lightning bolt (notched in females). Walks on all fours or upright, more like a strong and agile "field mouse". Stores up to 100,000 volts. Alolan Raichu: A rounder, more "surfer-like" version with lighter (soft orange) fur, large, thick ears with inner spirals (resembling floats), blue eyes, and white markings on its paws and tail, which it uses as a board to "surf" through the air or water thanks to its psychic powers. Electric/Psychic type, visually calmer and more playful.
